An experienced editor passionate about assisting humanities and social science authors to clearly articulate their ideas. I'm a Burnaby-based academic editor, writer and researcher who can help you bring clarity, structure, and energy to your book, article, conference paper, dissertation, thesis, and job or graduate school application materials.

I hold an MA in history from the University of Calgary (2001) and pursued my PhD studies in British imperial history at the University of Illinois, with a research focus on gender and politics in Canada, New Zealand, and South Asia. I was awarded the Joseph Ward Swain Prize by the department of history for "Contesting Colonial Masculinity/Constituting Imperial Authority: Ceylon in Mid-Nineteenth-Century British Public Debate," New Zealand Journal of Asian Studies 6, no. 2 (2004), 39-62. I've held adjunct positions at the University of Calgary, the University of Illinois, and at Whitman College.

As a managing editor for the Journal of Women's History (2006-2007; 2009-2010), a book review editorial assistant for Politics & Gender (2016-2017), and a freelance editor since 2010, I've been fortunate to work with authors from across the humanities and social sciences, including authors located in history, gender and women's studies, politics, sociology, anthropology, literature, health studies, geography, Asian studies, African studies, Jewish studies, and ethnic studies.
